CHIEF PILOT – AIR BOTSWANA

  1. CHIEF PILOT

 

Purpose of the Job

  1. Reporting to the Director, Flight Operations the candidate is responsible for the overall flight operational effectiveness, and the general duties and responsibilities include;
  2. Assigning and supervising the duties of flight and ground personnel
  3. Overseeing performance of Pilots, determining Pilot resource requirements and managing their human resources issues
  4. Determining flight crew requirements and the associated training programmes, ensuring that all scheduled recurrent training is undertaken
  5. Coordinating the Pilot induction program
  6. Ensuring discipline in the Pilot body as laid out in the operations manual
  7. Developing and implementing a critical injury response program for Pilots
  8. Ensure compliance with standards as laid down in the Air Botswana’s Flight Operations Manual

Position Minimum Requirements

 

The position requires a candidate to have attained;

 

  • ATPL and Type Rating on Air Botswana fleet
  • ICAO proficiency level 4 certificate
  • A relevant degree in Airline/Transport Management or Business degree will be an added advantage
  • Current and valid JAR-FCL ATPL Licence
  • Current and valid first class medical certificate issued by a recognised member country under the rules of the ATPL, issued within the last 5-6 months
  • Five (5) years’ experience as Pilot-In-Command in a commercial air transport operation of which two (2) years should have been a Training Captain.
