Microsoft And Network Support – ( N+ / A+ / Microsoft Server / Desktop Support / Security Practices ) – Botswana

Job Purpose:
To provide level 3 Microsoft, exchange and domain administration support and level 2 network support across the group.  The role also requires managing physical access to the building.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the domain is functioning in accordance with Microsoft best practice
  • Follow policies and procedures when creating accounts
  • Ensure the right people have the right levels of access to the right systems
  • Maintain Microsoft systems according to Microsoft best practice, including anti-virus and system updates
  • Provide ongoing support in terms of resolving and/or escalating queries and issues in a prompt and timely manner
  • Implement, maintain and update policies and procedures as required
  • Be available to provide 24 hour support across the group
  • Provide all employees across the group with access to exchange services
  • Filter spam and malware
  • Maintain mail archiving procedures
  • Provide ongoing support in terms of resolving and/or escalating queries and issues in a prompt and timely manner
  • Implement, maintain and update policies and procedures for exchange administration
  • Be available to provide 24 hour support across the group
  • Perform ongoing level 2 network support, including, for example, wifi connectivity, VPN connectivity, client to server connectivity, server to server connectivity and internet access
  • Manage internet access controls lists (i.e. who has access to which websites)
  • Implement, maintain and update policies and procedures for internet access
  • Maintain awareness of the control framework
  • Participate in checking and vetting logical access management to ensure business users have appropriate levels of access and to ensure system rights are automatically modified when people move or leave

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Relevant IT degree / diploma (N+ and A+)
  • 5+ years’ relevant IT experience, preferably in a large corporation
  • Server management skills including Microsoft Server
  • Domain Management skills
  • Desktop support experience including Microsoft products and desktop Hardware
  • Knowledge of exchange administration
  • Knowledge of network VPN’s and internet routing
  • Knowledge of security practices
  • Very good interpersonal skills and team work capability.
