Public Relations Manager

Main purpose of the job

Responsible for managing the public relations department and the content it delivers. Ensuring brand message is consistent, timely, and relevant throughout all formal internal and external communiqué. Create, manage, and implements PR campaigns with the goal of enriching a company’s position within the public eye. Maintain a strong relationship with media outlets, external stakeholders and institutional affiliates including academic advisory boards
Main duties

Provide leadership for the media and public relations components of the College’s integrated Marketing and Communications Plan.
Manage media relations for the College, developing and implementing a strategic media relations campaign to ensure a positive image for the College.
Plan external audience special events for the College, aggressively seeking opportunities to make news that generates coverage.
Provides guidance and support to departments and campuses planning events and other public relations activities.
Advocate on behalf of the company of the company brand with external stakeholders and the media across all communications channels and vehicles.

Requirements

Masters qualification in Public Relations/Marketing or related field.
Five years of progressively responsible, professional experience, related to area of assignment including two years of supervisory assignment.

Knowledge and Skills

Public Information principles and practices
Social media principles
Crisis planning and communications
Supervisory principles.
