PURCHASING AND STOCKS MANAGER

A cooking oil manufacturing company based in Francistown, Botswana is seeking a Purchasing and Stocks Manager.
Qualifications:
•       Degree that focuses on Materials Management or equivalent
•       MBA, MSC, equivalent or Higher
•       CIPS membership, or equivalent will be an advantage
Experience:
•       Minimum ten (10) years post-qualification in Procurement or Materials Management
•       of the above, at least five (5) years at management level in the materials function of a medium to large organization
Purpose of the position:
1. To plan, organise and control the procurement of inventory and stores of the Company.
2. To ensure that user departments are timeously and adequately supplied with materials in a cost-efficient manner.
3. Responsible for management of stores.
4. Develop corporate supply policies, procedures and tender regulations to ensure the integrity of the Company supply process.
5. Develop strategies and targets for the management of company inventory levels.
6. Develop appropriate procurement strategies for the Company.
7. Recommend appropriate stock replenishment policy on the basis of consumption trends.
8. Identify high value materials and negotiate long term supply contracts to ensure optimal purchasing of the Company’s strategic materials and services.
9. Provide technical advice and secretarial services to the Company’s Tender Committee, as well as an adjudication control service for Company.
10. Provide specialist advice to departmental procurement and stocks controller.
