PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide Introductory, Intermediate and Senior Reservations staff with ongoing training on the unique and proprietary Wilderness Safaris Systems and product training. Schedule specialized sales style training will incorporate Business to Consumer and Business to Business, and ongoing training/ product visits to Travel Shop staff. Effectively organise, structure and monitor staff, knowledge and systems to enable the Maun Travel Shop/ agency to function competently and compete internationally to source, maintain and exponentially grow/ build the Botswana business, at the same time as increasing employment in the country’s Travel Shops.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

•Provide Introductory, Intermediate and Senior product and Unique Wilderness Safaris Systems training for all Travel Shop staff
•Co-ordination of monthly training schedules, including B2B and B2C internal/ external training, as required.
•Comprehensive product training for Wilderness Safaris camps in Southern African countries.
•Compilation and updating of regional company training manuals
•Training reservations and sales staff (of all seniority) on all aspects of the company’s reservations functions.
•Arranging and co-ordinating of all educationals, site inspections, workshops and supplier throughout Southern Africa.
•Provide on the job training
oProvide development and upskilling training for new reservations staff and ongoing support to senior reservations staff
oProvide specialist reservations assistance on individual bookings where required and manage desks of reservations staff, as necessary and in periods of emergency

•Arranging of external training courses
oEnsure Training needs identified are aligned to that of the Group and drive implantation thereof.

•Training to travel trade agents on Agents’ WISH & Wilderness Window

oProvide input on all learning material as required from a Group level.

•Management assistance to Business Unit Manager

oProvide strategic input relating to consultant capacities, account placement and ensure a management that emulates that of the rest of the business.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

QAULIFICATIONS

Diploma in International Hotel Management
Certificate in National Travel and Tourism & BQA Accreditation will be an added advantage
Excellent communication skills both written and oral, in English.
Computer Literate (Microsoft Office, particularly excel, Email, Internet).
Proven experience with TourPlan.
Detailed knowledge of Unique Wilderness Systems both WISH and Wilderness Window is required.
ADDED ADVANTAGE

Personal or educational travel experience.
Excellent knowledge of WS Product and Systems.
REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

4 years’ experience in a similar training and development environment.
At least 7 years’ proven reservations experience, managing agent relationships, all aspects of reservations and TourPlan (Finance).
A proven net turnover of no less than P20 million per annum, maintained for a minimum of 4 years.
