Relief Lodge Management couple – P30000 per month salary

Safari JOBS is currently recruiting for a Relief Lodge Management couple for an exciting opportunity with our well-established client – a company with a number of high profile, luxury lodges.

The successful candidates will report to the Concession Managers and should be willing to work for extended periods in a remote environment. They will be based at one of the 3 camps each month of their 3 month work cycle. These include two 10 sleeper properties (one of which is world class rated) and one 36 sleeper property, 2 of which are 5* and all situated in Northern Botswana.

A younger dynamic couple with a minimum of 3 – 5 years lodge / assistant lodge / luxury camp management experience would be best suited to this position. The ideal candidates must have an acute understanding and knowledge of operating a luxury safari lodge in a holistic manner. The successful couple will need to possess exceptional hosting skills as the interaction and well-being of the clientele is of vital importance to this position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED – BOTH:

Tertiary qualification preferably a degree or diploma in Hospitality / Tourism or similar

** must have original copies of all qualifications for work permit applications**;

3-5 years Management experience in luxury camp environment;

International experience an advantage;

Strong administrative skills;

Maintenance skills and experience an advantage;

Experience and ability to train staff;

Fully computer literate;

Proficient in English, ability to communicate in foreign languages are an advantage;

Enthusiasm, passion and energy;

Minimum of 3 contactable references (per candidate);

Candidates need to be mature, well educated, well presented and well spoken;

Candidates need to be responsible, able to work under pressure and unsupervised;

Candidates need to be willing to work in remote areas for extended periods of time;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION – BOTH:

  • Full responsibility for guests during their stay from arrival to departure;
  • Hosting of guests at all meals;
  • Managing and leading the front of house team;
  • Mentoring and training the front of house team;
  • Responsible for housekeeping in rooms and FOH;
  • Responsible for all maintenance standards FOH;
  • Maintaining set standards and implementing new systems;
  • Relevant Guest and Staff administration;
  • All camp administration including stock takes, orders, registers;
  • Management and supervision of maintenance teams;
  • Guest and staff logistics;
  • Management and running of curio shop;
  • Assisting FOH teams with guests;
  • Maintaining set standards and implementing new systems;
  • Guide management

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS:

(DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND SUITABILITY)

  • 25, 000. 00 – 30, 000. 00 Botswana Pula per month basic salary for the couple, subject to the above mentioned;
  • 50% contribution to Bomaid medical aid scheme B (www. bomaid. co. bw) or equivalent value paid as a taxable allowance for a medical aid of the employee’s choice;
  • 10 front of house bed nights per annum (conditions apply);
  • 14 back of house visitation nights per annum;
  • Discretionary bonuses paid in December;
  • All meals, accommodation and transport into and out of camp to or from Maun / Kasane;
  • Gratuity of 1 day’s salary per complete month payable on termination of contract or after 5 years of service.

WORK CYCLE:

3 months on / 27 days off
