Main Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the IT infrastructure Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the daily administration of the University’s server and storage infrastructure in addition to maintaining availability of the servers to agreed service targets.
Education: A minimum of Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or Telecom Engineering. Industry related certifications such as MCITP Server Administrator, VCP, RHCSA/RHCE and ITIL will be an added advantage.
Experience: A tleast 5 years post qualification experience administering and supporting server and storage infrastructure, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
The position requires the following Competencies/Skills:
In depth experience and troubleshooting skills with Windows Server (2008 or later)
Demostrate undestanding of TCP/IP, Ipv4/v6 concepts
SAN and NAS experience (EMC preferred)
Intermediate Linux administration skills
Experience working with highly virtualised evironments (VMWARE preferred).
Strong systems administration familiarity with following applications; SCCM, Office 2010+, BMC Remedy, Active Directory.
