1 x Alarm Technician, position tenable in Gaborone

1 x Assistant Technician position in Francistown

Main purpose of the job:

  • Install, programme, test, service maintain and repair security alarm wiring, burglar, CCTV, Access Control, panic alarm systems, equipment, and ensures work is in accordance with relevant codes for integrated security solutions.
  • Alteration and installation of security systems hardware and software in a network environment
  • Demonstrate and hand over projects to the client
  • Ensure that all installation and maintenance contracts are carried out on time and to the required standard.
  • Maintain confidentiality as to client’s systems and belongings
  • Reduction of false alarms on new installations and to ensure that jobs are finished on time
  • Repair and maintenance items listed above
  • Able to prepare reports, provide input on changes in the security systems industry
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties to be determined and assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electronics
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in an Electronic related environment
  • Fluent in both English and Setswana
  • Driver’s license with a minimum of two years

Public Relations Manager

Main purpose of the job

Responsible for managing the public relations department and the content it delivers. Ensuring brand message is consistent, timely, and relevant throughout all formal internal and external communiqué. Create, manage, and implements PR campaigns with the goal of enriching a company’s position within the public eye. Maintain a strong relationship with media outlets, external stakeholders and institutional affiliates including academic advisory boards
Main duties

Provide leadership for the media and public relations components of the College’s integrated Marketing and Communications Plan.
Manage media relations for the College, developing and implementing a strategic media relations campaign to ensure a positive image for the College.
Plan external audience special events for the College, aggressively seeking opportunities to make news that generates coverage.
Provides guidance and support to departments and campuses planning events and other public relations activities.
Advocate on behalf of the company of the company brand with external stakeholders and the media across all communications channels and vehicles.

Requirements

Masters qualification in Public Relations/Marketing or related field.
Five years of progressively responsible, professional experience, related to area of assignment including two years of supervisory assignment.

Marketing Officer

Main purpose of the job

We require an enthusiastic, hardworking and experienced marketing officer who will focus on the promotion of New Era College programs. The candidate will be working together with the Admissions department. You will manage the gathering and use of data to inform College strategy and contribute to decision making concerning the recruitment plan.
Main duties

Provide advice and guidance on student recruitment, including portfolio development using market intelligence.
Systematically gather market and competitor intelligence and conduct market research, disseminating findings across the relevant departments.
Develop a network of relevant marketing contacts within and outside the Institution and use this network to inform development of faculty’s in the College.
Work with external stakeholders in events which involve marketing of Tertiary Institutions.
Creative input into new advertising campaigns.

Requirements

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification, a professional marketing qualification is desirable.
Experience in marketing role and some evidence of professional development within marketing.
Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of producing marketing campaigns across a broad range of channels (within tertiary education).
Possess outstanding organizational and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high quality delivery.

Records Management Administrator/ Coordinator

Main purpose of the job

To provide guidance, purpose and direction in the establishment of the Records management Unit. The incumbent shall oversee and monitor the implementation of all approved records management guidelines, policies, standards and procedures on the management of the College’s records.
Main duties

Administer the records management Unit and provide assistance to departments;
Plan, formulate, and prescribe records disposition policies, systems, standards, and procedures;
In consultation with departments, identify essential records and establish a disaster management plan for each office and department to ensure maximum availability of the records.
Develop procedures to ensure the permanent preservation of the historically valuable records of the College;
Study the feasibility of and, if appropriate, establish a uniform filing system and a forms design and control system for the institution;
Provide records management advice and assistance to the College through the preparation of procedure manual/s and policy for the productivity of the College operations;
Monitor records retention schedules and administrative rules as stipulated in the Records Management Policy for records control schedules;
Report annually to the Senior Management Team through the Committee Chairperson on the implementation of the records management plan in each department of the College, including summaries of the statistical and fiscal data
Bring to the attention of the Registrar noncompliance by departments and recommend corrective measures.

Requirements

A Degree or Higher diploma in Archives and records management or a related field;
Proficiency in records management knowledge in records management in a computerized environment;
Proficiency in written and verbal communication;
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills;
Timely decision making.
