Assistant, New Business

Location: Francistown (City)
Provide a 2nd face office-bound point, for a portfolio of VAF relationships/clients.
Perform a liaison role between the Customer, and all other internal support divisions of the Bank
Educate clients regarding the parameters and routine procedures governing complex but standard VAF product, solution and service offerings
Achieve sales targets
Ensure that assets financed by the bank are adequately protected by means of insurance cover
Cross-sell bank’s products and services
Prudent application of new business margins to maximize return
Conduct interviews with customers applying for finance in an effective and professional manner
Attend to customer enquiries relative to asset finance
Be constantly aware of opportunities for new business and to follow up business which might be lost to other bank e.g. request for references, request for settlements
Nurture relationships with dealerships to optimise sales opportunities as well as customers
Conduct interviews with customers applying for finance in respect of insurance cover/renewal of insurance
Develop meaningful relationships with key sales staff within Corporate and Investment Banking and Personal and Business Banking to ensure that VAF services these markets
Report on market trends and development
Preferred Qualification and Experience
A Business related degree in any field/ Associate Banking Diploma
Experience in sales environment of at least 12 months preferably Home loans & VAF
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Ability to work under Target orientated environment
A thorough knowledge of administration processes and procedures pertaining to VAF transactions.
Good numerical skills and financial acumen to interpret and evaluate financial statements, balance sheets and ratios and cash flow cycles.
A good working knowledge of financial spreadsheet applications (e.g. Excel) to capture and analyse financial data.
Good knowledge of Personal and Business Banking product offerings.
