Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:

 

 

1. Principal Engineer/Scientist-Trade Metrology (Francistown Branch): Vacancy No. 2/2017/2018

Job Summary and Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to promote the adoption of standards and quality assurance policies and practices within the trade metrology sector to enhance public awareness of their rights to quality goods and services.

 

The candidate will have at least a degree in the natural sciences or engineering and at least four years practical experience in the development or implementation of standards and a valid driving licence Specialised postgraduate training in standards research and development and or implementation will be an added advantage. Engineers must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).

2. Senior Engineer Testing –Civil: Vacancy No. 3/2017/2018

Job Summary and Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to promote the adoption of standards and quality assurance policies and practices within a sector to enhance the delivery of, and public awareness of their rights to, quality goods and services and provide technical services within a specialized quality assurance area (Testing).

 

The successful candidate will have at least a degree in Civil Engineering or related field and at least two years practical experience in the development or implementation of standards and a valid driving licence. Recognised expertise in standards research and development and or implementation will be an added advantage. The candidate must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).

3. Senior Scientist Compulsory Standards: Vacancy No. 4/2017/2018

Job Summary and Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to enforce compliance with compulsory standards and promote quality assurance policies and practices to enhance the delivery of goods and services to protect the public in the interest of health and safety, public awareness of their rights to, quality goods and services as well as provide inspection services within a specialized area,

 

The successful candidate will have at least a degree in the natural sciences and at least two years practical experience in the development or implementation of standards and a valid driving licence. Recognised expertise in standards research and development and or implementation will be an added advantage.

4. Senior Administration Officer Vacancy No. 5/2017/2018

Job Summary and Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to manage and oversee all of the administration functions, procurement of planned preventative and reactive maintenance of all movable assets of BOBS as well as supervise management of Fleet, Records Management and Cleaning Services Contract

The successful candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience for a degree holder or 5 years for a Diploma holder as well as a driving licence.

 

5. Facilities Officer: Vacancy No. 6/2017/2018

Job Summary and Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to manage and oversee all BOBS’ Facilities, perform all administrative functions related thereto as well as procurement of planned preventative and reactive maintenance of all BOBS facilities.

 

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Building Construction or a related field. At least 5 years practical experience, 3 years of which should have been in a supervisory position of facilities operations and maintenance of properties. A driving licence, experience and knowledge in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning, roofing, asphalt-concrete surfaces, building water penetration maintenance, trouble-shooting and associated maintenance issues are a requirement.
