JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : Sales Manager – Essentials
REPORTS TO : National Sales Manager
DEPARTMENT : Sales & Marketing

 

1. ORGANISATONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Internally : All Departments
Externally : Principals: Suppliers

2. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible to build a sound relationship with key customers of a large area within a division. Negotiates price increases, rebates, shelf space, trade deals, and regional promotions with key customers.

3. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualification : Degree in Sales & Marketing
: Computer literacy essential
Experience : 5 – 7 years experience as a Sales Rep. Experience in an FMCG environment will be an added advantage.

4. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Analyses key customer sales performance
2) Negotiates and manages, trading terms, price and shelf space
3) Competitive gaps & growth opportunities are identified
4) Ensure customer satisfaction all the time & that customer complaints are resolved timeously through regular contact
5) Compiles sales statistics and reports
6) Administers trade marketing admin for Milling Products
7) Develops and implements essential brands plans
8) Manages promotional grids & front-end logistics

 

 

9) Analyses competitor activities & prices in category
10) Negotiates elements, achieve financial & market share objectives
11) Innovative approach to promotions & new product launches
12) Product and service levels exceed standards and customer expectations
13) Identifies competitive gaps & growth opportunities
14) Controls working capital items e.g. debtors days & product returns
15) Completes administration; accurate & on-time
16) Achieves planned budget and scheduled projects
17) Maintains functional policy and legal framework
18) Maintains interdepartmental relations and stakeholder relations
19) Manages performance of own team
20) Formulates and manages sales plans i.e. volume, price & promotions
