Cargo Sales Executive

Overview of role

Reporting to the Cargo Services Manager the candidate will be responsible to cost effectively, and pro-actively sell airline products and services within a designated sales area and build and maintain market share in order to generate and maximize revenues and customer satisfaction.

Job description

The general duties and responsibilities include;

  • Implements a Business and Marketing plan to optimize airline Cargo revenue and presence in the assigned market place.
  • Monitors service delivery to customers and ensures that cargo is handled carefully, promptly and (where appropriate) any special customer requirements have been compiled with.

  • Maintains effective working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and service providers by ensuring adherence to service legal agreements and contractual requirements
  • Participates in the gathering and analysis of customer feedback to establish the value, satisfaction and expectations for each service provided within work area.
  • Keeps abreast with the latest developments in Cargo sales and customer service initiatives that lead to process improvement by applying acquired knowledge, skills and best practice.
  • Identifies, develops and maintains long term customer relationships with airline Corporate/ Shipping and Freight Forwarders/ trade clients
  • Maintains and develops good relationship with customers through personal contact or meetings or via telephone etc.

 

  • Participates in all pre-tasks hazard identifications and risk assessments.
  • Sets and reviews personal work objectives, appraising work performance, identifying areas for development and growth in order to improve effectiveness in the work place.
  • Identifies and implements cost containment initiatives within the section

Requirements, Education and Experience

The position requires a candidate to have attained;

Education: Degree in Marketing & Sales or related field discipline

Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in cargo marketing and sales environment
