CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER – BANK GABORONE

 

A member of the Executive Committee (EXCO) and reporting to the Managing Director, the
incumbent will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the Bank’s approved
strategy through the development of an integrated COO function that supports Bank Gaborone with key capabilities as required from a strategic and operational perspective. The incumbent will also be expected to take responsibility for excellence and delivery in the Operations and Technology space.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• Project Management certification required
• An MBA qualification or post graduate qualification in Technology will be an added
advantage
• At least Ten (10) years’ experience in business of which Five (5) years must have been in
Senior Management role within banking operations
• Strong understanding of company’s products or services and knowledge of their competition
• Knowledge of business principles and techniques of administration, strategic and
operational planning, financial and cost analysis
• Proved record on formulating strategies and concepts
• Knowledge of the banking industries, outside of the retail banking, the entire bank practices and broader
• Strong leadership skills with ability to interact and influence at all levels
• Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Good project management skills
• Strong people management skills
• Coaching and mentoring skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
