Customer and Trade Analyst – AVI International

Our International division has an opportunity that has become available for a Customer and Trade Analyst to join our Botswana team based in Gaborone. Reporting directly to the Country Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate, fact-based insights and actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making and drive sales.

 

Duties & Responsibilities Sales reporting and analysis

Compile and disseminate customer and business review reports to highlight shifts and trends
Prepare and present monthly management packs
Generate sales analysis, reports and presentations; by region, channel, customer, category and brand
Report on Customer buying trends, news and store growth
Analyse sales budgets by representative and customer
Gather, update and track promotional information from Sales Managers through managing the promo and clashing grid
Manage NPD plan and tracking
Consolidate monthly scorecards and KPI dashboards

Systems administration

Manage Customer and Rep hierarchies and maintain Customer linking in SAP and SQL
Manage pricing including list price maintenance, new product additions, SAP alignment, cycle deals/ distributor price lists

 

Market intelligence research

Conduct trade research by market and category
Perform market and competitor trend analysis by channel, category, brand and package
Monitor key competitor activity trends with scenario impacts on relevant categories

Project coordination

Support the Marketing and Sales teams in implementing tactical events and programs
Assist the Trade Marketing Manager (based in SA) with planning, budgeting, and implementation of in-store activities

Experience Required

At least 2 years’ Sales / Data / Trade analyst experience gained within a FMCG environment
Advanced SAP, Excel and SQL experience essential
Minimum Qualifications Required Grade 12 / Matric
A completed tertiary qualification in IT, Data Management, Business Administration or related required

Knowledge Required

Advanced computer skills
Well-developed knowledge of business processes pertaining to sales
Good understanding of Sales reporting requirements
Valid drivers license
