Job Summary
– To provide business analysis services for the effective design, development, implementation and
maintenance of the information management systems for the MRM department of the mine.
– To provide data analysis services for the effective acquisition, processing, storage, transformation and
delivery of MRM (i.e. geology, geotechnical, hydrogeology, mine planning and survey) data.

Minimum Requirements
– B.Sc. (Hons) degree / B.Sc. degree + Post graduate qualification in Geosciences, Environmental Sciences,
or Computer Science.
– Minimum five (5) years post qualification experience in a mineral exploration or mining environment of
which at least three (3) years must have been on MRM information and systems management.
Pre Appointment Training
– Business Process Analysis
– COTS MRM Systems (e.g. Acquire/Datamine/Datashed /GEMS/LogChief/Surpac/Vulcan/etc.)
– Microsoft SQL Server
– Statistical Analysis

Key activities
– Analyses the group MRM information and system related financial need, develops a budget and ensures
sufficient financial resources to meet business needs.
– Provides Oversight and control on the Operations MRI Opex and Capex budgets.
– Manages and controls funds allocated for Group MRM information and systems related business needs and
operates within approved parameters
– Develops and implements strategy for enabling standard Group MRM processes in Debswana through
appropriate IT systems
– Develops and implements strategy for enabling acquisition, storage, processing, integration and delivery of Group MRM information

 

– Elicits, interprets, models and communicates business requirements relating to Group MRM information
management system.
– Manages the design, development and implementation of system to meet Group MRM business strategy,
business requirements and code of practice.
– Manages the integration of MRM systems with business Planning, Mining and Ore Processing systems.
– Manages the design, development and implementation of relevant databases, data warehouses and data
marts to meet Group MRM business analytics, data mining and reporting requirements.
– Manages the integration Group MRM data internally as well as externally with business planning, mining
and Ore Processing to provide requisite data products.
– Develops and/or implements guidelines, standards, controls and processes, information and systems
– Performs audits on accuracy, completeness and security of MRM process, data, information and systems
and communicates outcomes to relevant stakeholders.

 

– Manages the provisioning of user support and training for Group MRM processes, data, information and
systems related to Geology, Geotech, Hydrogeology, Mine Planning and survey
– Identifies, motivates approval and manages implementation of Group MRM systems related projects to
ensure attainment of desired goal in line with the business strategy
– Researches and evaluates new best practice, standards, tools, systems and technology to improve current
and business process efficiency, effectiveness and work flow.
