Executive Chef – Exclusive Lodge – Botswana

Location: Northern Botswana

Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting for an Executive Chef for a well known luxury safari company in Botswana. This particular role is based at a 5* exclusive lodge in Northern Botswana. We are looking for someone who has a passion for the bush and enjoys creating 5* dishes for international guests. You will need to be creative and be able to think on your feet when in the kitchen. You will need to be a great team leader and develop your team in a way that allows them to grow in confidence and ability in the kitchen.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management and participation of daily kitchen operations and food production in camp
  • Menu planning in line with seasonal availability and trends
  • Menu planning in line with dietary restrictions
  • Costing, ordering and stock control
  • Training and developing the kitchen team
  • Managing, motivating and mentoring staff members

Requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in a remote environment
  • Experience in menu planning, stock taking and ordering for 5 star establishment – preferably remote environment lodge type establishment
  • Experience in successful staff training and mentoring
  • Experience in kitchen team management
  • Fully computer literate in Windows suite
  • Excellent self-motivation and initiative
  • Ability to work harmoniously with management and staff of all levels
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and work well under pressure and unsupervised
  • Minimum 3 contactable references


Highly competitive package is offered with this role – this includes flights in and out of concession on leave cycles, full live in accommodation, meals and uniform a contribution towards medical aid a 3 months on 1 month off work cycle and an option of a discretionary bonus payable in December.
