Field Sales Manager

Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Sales Department, based at Bloemfontein Distribution Centre. The successful incumbent will report to the Territory Sales Manager.


Purpose of the Position:

To improve and grow Distell Brands in the territory through leadership and sound people Management.


Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieved sales targets as per business plan
  • Implement and increase awareness of the strategic focus drive initiatives
  • Achieved set volume and value targets on strategic focus brands
  • Increase sales coverage by identifying new sales prospects according to segmentation tool
  • Sales force effectiveness process implemented successfully , 3A’s for Field Sales Reps and 4A`s for Sales Consultants
  • Optimise all resources to achieve sales targets (People, processes, time, tools etc.) and resolve issues quickly
  • Achieve Cold and Ambient space targets by brand category
  • In field sales team anticipated customer needs and competitor tactics – resulting in proactively identifying opportunities and potential problems eliminated to increase coverage
  • Built effective working relationships with customers and relevant stakeholders to achieve results
  • Company values lived by self and team
  • Support in-field team to service customers and to implement plans according to channel strategy
  • In field assessments conducted 6x pa and identify training needs
  • Providing timeous feedback to team and internal customers on areas for improvement on efficiencies, competition activities or any burning issue requiring quick solutions and attention 

    The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

  • Relevant Diploma/degree (Sales & or Marketing qualification will be preferential)
  • Minimum of 4 years Sales/Marketing experience supported by strong Labour relations experience
  • A valid driver’s licence with no endorsements
  • Strong numerical and business acumen experience
  • Ability to manage / lead and coach people
  • Good communication and negotiating skills
  • Ability to initiate and innovate
  • Strong problem solving and conflict management skills
  • A willingness to travel and act independently
  • Willingness to work after hours  / Flexible 44 hours
  • Self-starter / self-motivator
  • Team player
