Assistant Procurement Officer

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Procurement Officer, the position will be responsible for procuring various supplies in accordance with customer specification, expediting orders placed, as well as, maintaining accurate supply and Procurement records.

THE JOB

• The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
• Procuring of goods and services in accordance with the organisation, as well as, ensuring a timely delivery of supplies.
• Expediting orders placed, as well as, maintaining accurate Procurement records.
• Processing of invoices for payments.
• Investigating new, lower cost and alternative supply sources on behalf of the organisation.
• Ensuring compliance of Procurement ethics and principles.
• Attending to customer queries and devising remedies.
• Ensuring Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE).

THE PERSON

• The right candidate will possess the following:
• A minimum of CIPS level 4 or Diploma in projects, Logistics & Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• At least 2 years experience in mining, construction industry and or similar environment.
• A light duty Driver’s License is mandatory.
