Audit Assistant – Norsad Capital

Norsad Capital is looking for an enthusiastic, forthcoming, dependable and reliable individual to fill the position of Audit Assistant.

They will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Execute relevant functions to check the accuracy of Norsad’s accounting systems and procedures.
• Identify and recommend changes in accounting or audit systems and controls, performing the necessary research to resolve such issues.
• Evaluate internal control systems and policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and accepted auditing standards.
• Inspect, test and assess software and hardware systems for its security effectiveness and its failure.
• Perform substantive tests, which include, performing audit of the various sections of the income statement such as: sales, cost of sales, operating expenses, salaries and wages and the balance sheet sections such as: Additions in fixed assets, debtors’ circularization, bank & cash.
• Assisting with engagement administration including preparation of audit plans, budgets and management letter comments.
• Preparing client assistance schedules (CAS) and following-up on deliverables.
• Produce high quality work which adheres to the relevant professional standards.
• Keep up to date with technical developments for the business area.
• Carry out audit assignments as assigned from time to time.
• Carry out KYC reviews.

The ideal individual is to possess the following:

Education/Qualification:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy & Finance/Internal Auditing; or
• ACCA – Qualified or Part Qualified; or
• BICA students – where at least 2 professional (P) papers have already been passed.
• Minimum of four (4) years relevant working experience.
