VACANCY: DEPUTY DIRECTOR (QUALITY IMPROVEMENT) – E2
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, tenable at Ministry of Health & Wellness, Headquarters.
SALARY: E2 (P373, 152 – P388, 236 per annum)
BENEFITS:
a) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50%, Employee pays 50%).
b) A contract of 24-36 months with gratuity of 30% payable at the end of the contract.
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree plus Post Graduate Diploma in Quality Management in Health Services/Health Safety Management.
EXPERIENCE: 14 years’ experience in the field of quality assurance, 2 years of which must have been at management level.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage functions of the quality assurance and improvement for the Ministry of Health and Wellness, through adherence to set health standards and strategies.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
1. Develops the national quality improvement framework for national health policies, strategies and plans.
2. Interprets policies related to health service delivery across the ministry.
3. Provides technical advice to stakeholders on issues of quality improvement.
4. Contributes in the development of health service delivery policies.
5. Interprets policies related to quality improvement of health services across the ministry.
6. Provides technical support for designing quality assurance systems for programme implementation.
7. Provides technical guidance in auditing of health programmes and services.
8. Contributes to the development of health standards.
9. Manages the dissemination of quality improvement reports to different stakeholders.
10. Manages quality performance and improvement functions.
11. Manages health information generated in the Ministry of Health and Wellness for quality improvement.
12. Manages resource requirements of the function.
13. Prepares budget estimates for Quality Improvement Division.
14. Monitors utilization of the allocated budget.
15. Undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by Management.
