Lucara Botswana (Pty) Ltd operates the Karowe Diamond Mine at Letlhakane in the Boteti sub district. The plant was commissioned in April 2012 and has gone on to achieve exceptional performance. It is the source of some truly special diamonds. The plant completed major upgrades that include introduction of X-Ray Transmission (XRT) technology in diamond recovery. This is adding to the already existing innovative application of autogenous milling in diamond processing. The Company is embarking on projects, which entail enhanced large diamond recovery.

Diamond Sorter -Color

Job Summary

Reporting to the Diamond Sorting Supervisor, Diamond Sorter -Color identifies diamonds based on a host of different classifications, such as size, model, shape, color, clarity, and fluorescence. Sorts diamonds according to standard operating procedures. Performs technical quality assurance, product integrity checks, diamond valuation large stones, RTOP pricing, diamond data management and reporting. Performs market intelligence and customer liaison.

Qualifications and Experience:

• O’ Level, BGCSE or equivalent
• Diamond Sorting Programme Certification (Inhouse)
• Rough to Polish
• Bachelor’s in Sciences preferred
• 6 years’ experience in diamond valuation and grading
