Specification
KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Statutory and Regulatory Reporting:
•Accountable and responsible for the sign-off and process of statutory / regulatory reporting; accountable for the accuracy, completeness and correctness of financial statutory reporting for the company. Accountable and responsible towards outside (e.g. regulator) and inside towards, CEO of Botswana.
Group Reporting (including IFRS, FCR, NBFIRA Statutory returns (Annual and quarterly), Tax etc.):
•Accountable and responsible for the production process of IFRS, FCR, Tax, results for the Company
•Accountable and responsible for the accuracy of all balance sheet, P&L and Statistical items required by Bryte and in line with guidelines and policies
•Responsible for major cash and capital management transactions
•Accountable for issue resolution and providing final sign off
Planning & Performance Management:
•Accountable and responsible for ensuring that business plans and forecasts reflect strategic initiatives and plan numbers are in line with targets
•Accountable for issue resolution providing final sign off
•Accountable or monitoring direct expenses and testing the affordability of plans including project spends as well as managing costs and potential savings
•Responsible for managing capital in line with Bryte’s investment and risk strategy and integrating results
Governance & Controls:
•Accountable and responsible and responsible for implementing, monitoring and managing local Governance in line with Bryte requirements
•Accountable and responsible for adhering to Controls according to Internal Control Framework for Financial Reporting
People Management:
•Accountable and responsible for managing people and direct reports in Finance department
•Accountable and responsible for hiring and deployment of direct reports
•Accountable and responsible for talent development
•Business Strategy Partner:
•Consulted for the setting of strategy and initiatives required to deliver strategy
•Responsible for overseeing development of business strategy and business plan processes from a Finance perspective
•Accountable for acting as representative member in the respective committees and boards as required locally
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
•University degree in Finance or the equivalent thereof
•Qualified Chartered Accountant
•Minimum 5 years managerial experience in the insurance field
•Working knowledge of Insurance products
•Regulatory Environment
•Accounting rules (IFRS, Statutory)
