responsibilities
- Consider fixed income/commodity/currency pricing requests from clients and construct a price which is suitable to buy and sell while strictly adhering to limits and monitoring market exposures on a daily basis.
- Revert to interbank/broker market and clear risk at the same price or better, if no interest is expressed in advertised positions.
- Illustrate to client’s levels available to buy or sell.
- Aim to win competitive RHS flows and at least 30% of Diamond USD auction
- Manage the desks funding requirements in line with limits provided by risk department and group treasury.
- Quote active two-way prices on bonds to help improve fixed income market liquidity.
- Compute daily trading blotter and approve daily profit and loss from accounts department; resolve any outstanding issues speedily.
- Management of risk from structured products and encourage trade in opposite side risk in the local market to grow revenue.
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the business and political economic local and global environment.
- Price requests from clients.
- Gather information about each bond being traded from various sources.
- Try to attract as much interest and pricing by external counterparties in specific bonds to help construct effective prices and trade profitability.
- Ensure adherence to approved counterparty and market risk limits.
- Initiate meetings and open communication with Risk and Credit to manage expectations and ensure stakeholders’ requirements are delivered.
- Act speedily to resolve problems and temporary limit requests.
- Demonstrates pride in the organization’s brand, services and products by consistently delivering on the brands promise.
