The applicant will be based in Maun and should be prepared to travel into remote areas from time to time.

Specification
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Deliver, administer and evaluate learning and development programs in accordance with the organization’s training and development plan. The Ground Training Officer is responsible to conduct informative training sessions, promote company efficiency, and improve the skills of all personnel by equipping them with the necessary talents to develop their competencies. The Ground Training Officer must be a great communicator with the ability to effectively describe complicated ideas to different audiences and must be proficient in time management, and possess excellent public speaking skills.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
·Being responsible for the full and effective control of the Wilderness Air Ground Based Training Programs which include but are not limited to; the safe, efficient, legal and correct conduct of all initial and recurrent training for operating personnel.
·Ensuring that all ground based training activities undertaken by Wilderness Air, are carried out in accordance with the Flight Operations Manuals and in terms of the applicable requirements prescribed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana and the Wilderness Air, Air Service License.
·Coordinating, scheduling and delivering training and development programs to be presented in the form of individual or group facilitation.
·Facilitating in a professional manner workshops, meetings, demonstrations and conferences.
·Working closely with Line Management to monitor, evaluate and determine suitable training programs and requirements for eligible individuals within the organisation.
·Establishing a training and development evaluation process through creating follow up testing for all training conducted.
·Managing all training logistics and preparing multimedia visual aids, presentations and instructional training materials such as handbooks, online tutorials, demonstration models, and supporting training reference documentation.
·Keeping up-to-date on developments and innovations within the Aviation training and education sector so that the organization’s training activities remain current and relevant.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
·Broad operational knowledge and experience in the functions of the organization (e.g. training management, aircraft operations).
Aviation instructional or training experience.
·Sound knowledge of Training Department Principles and Practices.
·Good written and spoken command of the English language and fully familiar with ICAO aviation terminology.
·2.5 years of managerial experience with strong focus on procedural compliance, safety practices and continuous improvement processes.
·Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritize, multi-task and manage to accomplish objectives within prescribed deadlines.
·Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
·Exposure to aviation in Botswana.
·An ICAO CPL (hold or have held) is desirable.
NB:The nature of this position demands discretion, good judgement and prompt, accurate decision making, as well as the management of complex situations.
