Group Accountant – Key Wealth Group

 

The Group Accountant will play an essential role within Key Wealth Group and is generally responsible for the account’s payables, receivables, bank management for the group. The purpose of this position is to assist the Group Finance Manager in the processing of financial accounting transactions, journals, and cashbook, getting the monthly financials ready up to trial balance. Assisting in producing accurate financial reporting to specific deadlines.

Liaising with the operations team with regards to debtors, creditors, collections, and payments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• General Ledgers – Allocation to correct G/L of all bank transactions Cash clearing accounts.
• Investigating and clearing timeously. Submitting of general ledger journals for correct allocations.
• Tax – Prepares and processes manual and electronic records and payments for PAYE, Other withholding taxes, SAT Quarterly and monthly payments. Preparation of VAT returns in liaison with FM for monthly submission. Analyze expenses for tax purposes monthly – e.g. Legal Expenses, subscriptions & rent etc.
• Payables – ensure effective management of payables. Interaction with suppliers and maintain a professional and effective relationships. Ensure monthly accruals are processed and source documentation obtained.
• Assets – Ensuring authorized documentation to update the fixed asset register monthly including Additions, disposals, scrapping, depreciation calculation/rates. Co-ordinate yearly fixed assets verification
• Bank Reconciliations – Reconciliation of all bank statements as well as Intercompany transactions

Receivables – Manage the collection of outstanding Debtors in coordination with FM and accounts department. Liaise with local debt collection agencies for progress on customers handed over and recommend customers for handover in coordination with FM. Actively engage in collection, follow up, timely invoicing and weekly reports on all accounts receivable.

 

Skills and Competencies

• Advanced experience using Microsoft Office suite, especially word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook.
• Advanced experience working with accounting and financial management software such as Pastel, QuickBooks, Accac or any other relevant software.
• Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
• Good with numbers and analytics

• Analytical mind and Problem-solving aptitude

Qualifications & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, AAT, and advanced progress towards a professional course in accounting including ACCA/CIMA/BICA
• 2 to 3 years’ experience as an accountant preferably in a financial service-related environment.
