Specification
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To gather data on wildlife and how they interact with their ecosystems and the impact humans have on wildlife and natural habitats in and around the Lodge operations. The incumbent will work with the guiding department to provide a series of programs that improve the quality of guiding experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Educate Guiding Teams on animals and their interaction with ecosystems
•Promote conservation efforts as per the Wilderness Standards.
•Mentoring and coaching of Guide Trainers and Guides.
•Work with other Departmental Heads to sensitize their teams on minimising the human impact on the ecosystem.
•Coordinate the resourcing and appointments of guides across all camps
•To implement and co-ordinate training in camps and at the training camp.
•To ensure that progress of training is communicated to the learners and Training General Manager.
•Identify individual needs and career paths for each guide employed by WS. Ensure they all have a training path, revision and goals to achieve each year.
•Identify individuals in the company that wish to become and guide and assist with material and preparation for the guiding exam
•To identify and present appropriate training modules such as refresher courses, training or induction where needed.
•To assist in compiling necessary documentation for BQA.
•Ensuring total compliance by law as per the rules and regulations followed by a Vocational Training Facility in Botswana.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•BSC (Hons) in Zoology or equivalent
•A minimum of 5 years Management experience
•Accredited as a trainer
•Teaching Experience and Qualification
•Certificate as a Trainer by BQA
•Valid Professional Guides License
•Experience in a Five Star Lodge will be an added advantage
