Sefalana Cash & Carry, a subsidiary of Sefalana Holdings Company limited and a loading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has an opportunity for a Head of Retail Operations. The position holder will be reporting directly to the Group Managing Director and based at the Head Office in Gaborone
Minimum Requirements:
- A postgraduate qualification in business management, commerce. retail management, logistics and supply management or any related field.
- At least twelve (12) years of work experience at middle and senior management positions within tho wholesale/retail (FMCG) sector.
- Possession of strong business acumen; decisiveness and able to discern market trends
- Be able to motivate and manage teams of subordinates to achieve optimal productivity
- Be able to spot business opportunities across Botswana to spread the retail division’s footprint.
- Strong coordination skills needed to execute new projects and high-level assignments.
- Be able to formulate business strategy, communicate and execute it within the defined timelines.
- Be able to establish/maintain good stakeholder relations to ensure benefit to all stakeholders
- Traceable track record of having served in management positions within the FMCG sector.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office package and able to adapt to new computer applications
- Possession of a Class B driver’s license is a compulsory requirement

The position holder will be expected to:
- Oversee business operations in thirty (30) branches in various places across Botswana.
- Coordinate the formulation and execution of the retail division’s business strategy.
- Communicate the division’s business strategy to all the teams on an on-going basis.
- Manage the performance of his/her team members to ensure optimal productivity.
- Report to the Operations Board on the performance of the division’s strategic intents.
- Establish relations with salient stakeholders in order to enhance business performance.
- Review management reports assessing business performance as per key performance targets.
- Develop remedial interventions to revive/enhance business performance as and when necessary.
- Conduct routine branch visits to assess adherence to set merchandising/housekeeping standards.
- Define the division’s corporate culture and ensure that teams are empowered to deliver enhanced value for all stakeholders.
