Morupule Coal Mine is a coal mining company in Botswana situated 14 kilometres west of Palapye along Serowe/Palapye road and mines coal primarily for the generation of electricity in Botswana. The company seeks to invite suitably qualified and experienced citizen candidates for the following positions:-
HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER – LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Job Summary:
To provide, facilitate and coordinate training programmes in area of responsibility
Key Activities:
- Adheres to all quality assurance/governance protocols/principles in the area of responsibly.
- Facilitates the identification of training and development needs in order to produce training and development Plans.
- Recommends and incorporates cost-saving initiatives into the budget and operates within approved parameters
- Establishes and conducts training needs analysis and detailed objectives in the specific discipline by assessing systems, processes and individual development plans and makes recommendations to management.
- Develops training matrices for various categories of trainees
- Designs and presents theoretical and practical training courses in the area of responsibility.
- Develops and coordinates training programme in the area of responsibility.
- Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of training and development programmes and takes corrective action.
- Facilitates the implementation of the performance management system to meet company standards.
- Designs, sets and marks exercises, tests and examinations to assess progress at each level of certification, advancement or termination of training, and makes a recommendation to line management
- Prepares training aids, lecture notes, modes, presentation, demonstrations and videos in line with approved standards.
- Allocates trainees to various sections for on the job and experiential training monitors progress and makes recommendations to line management.
- Reviews training programme in area of responsibility taking cognizance of new technology, methods, and modifications and make recommendations
- Analyses trainees results achieved to identify trends and problem areas and develops plans and take remedial action.
- Contributes to the development of the national curriculum by participating in government training advisory commitees and workshops.
- Liaises with appropriate training and government institutions i.e. (BQA / HRDC) to ensure compliance to legal requirements.
- Compiles statistics to update training record in order to update the departmental and mine training database.
- Monitors the implementation of the company’s Performance Management Framework to ensure compliance to set standards.
- Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas in order to improve the Mini Business Unit performance.
- Maintains effective relationships clients/partners/customers to ensure achievement o Mini Business Unit objectives.
- Takes responsibility for providing excellent services by developing self, applying skills, knowledge and experiences to improve and measure their own performance against set standards.
- Adheres to and promote safety health and environmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
- Valid light duty drivers licence.
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ post qualification experience in Learning and Development
- Registration with Botswana Qualification Authority
