The Company Seeks To Invite Suitably Qualified And Experienced Candidates For The Following Position:
MAINTENANCE ENGINEER – MECHANICAL

Job Summary:
To manage, co-ordinate and execute engineering maintenance and project activities in the designated sections to ensure the achievement of set business objectives
Key Activities:
- Coordinates the implementation of a short/medium term engineering plan aligned to the Mine Strategic Plan in conjunction with the relevant departments; disseminates and translates the short/medium term plan into action plans to achieve targets and goals.
- Develops, reviews and schedules the short/medium term maintenance, project and developmental requirements for the section, taking cognisance of the company policies/ procedures, statutory requirements and ensures compliance by setting performance standards/requirements and objectives based on the mine’s overall plan and analysing trends on equipment performance
- Manages and controls the engineering function at sectional level in order to meet set targets, taking cognisance of industry best practice
- Coordinates the implementation of the Asset Management strategy, standards, policies and practices by implementing asset management improvement programme, interpreting the Asset Management strategy; drawing action plans and managing the implementation thereof
- Analyses the divisional area’s financial needs to develop a budget and ensures sufficient financial resources to meet business needs
- Manages and controls allocated funds and operates within approved parameters.
- Contributes towards the development of the departmental Maintenance strategies, standards, systems and practices
- Identifies and corrects deviations from required performance through analysing trends and data, assessing and/or developing possible solutions/options, taking cognisance of available resources and constraints, recommending and ensuring implementation of remedial actions as required
- Manages compliance to performance standards, statutory and legal requirements for equipment, taking cognisance of health, safety, environmental and technical aspects.
- Initiates, monitors and controls short, medium and long term projects to ensure attainment of desired results.
- Identifies and manages the implementation of and adherence to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements
- Manages and coordinates the implementation of safety, health and environmental programme in area of responsibility
- Manages key effectiveness areas of subordinates by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary.
- Implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance.
- Manages the implementation of the talent management initiatives in area of responsibility by ensuring the right competence and effectiveness of manpower (capacity building) through developing and implementing career, succession, training and development plans.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and partners to ensure achievement of business objectives
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8 years post qualification Eng. Experience in a heavy engineering environment
- Registration with Botswana Engineers’ Registration Board
- Valid light duty Driver’s license
- Knowledge of SHE Management System ISO 45001: 2018 and ISO 14001: 2015
- Knowledge of Asset Management Systems PASS 55 or ISO 55001 standards
