MAINTENANCE MANAGER – AECI Botswana

 

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance of both the fixed and mobile equipment/plants for the site
• Implementation of the maintenance strategy
• Manage the critical spares for the site
• Be the CAPEX custodian for the site
• Manage all capital projects for the site
• Asset management custodian for the site
• Manage, mentor and coach Diesel Mechanics and Auto Electricians
• Conduct pump trip tests for the site
• Higher Authority Appointment for the site
• Oversee the maintenance of light duty vehicles
• Maintenance inspections and audits
• Compile all relevant maintenance related reports
• Custodian for the lightning arrestors for the explosives storage facilities
• Implementation of the company and client’s SHEQ management systems
• Implementation and enforcement of governance, policies and procedures.
• Maintenance cost management
• Implementation and enforcement of company values

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Requirements

The incumbent should have at least the following:

• BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with five (5) years’ experience
• Or an equivalent technical diploma with at least 15 years production experience, 10 of which were at supervisory level, a tertiary management qualification
• Must have knowledge of the following:

o PLC and microprocessor control systems

o Electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic interfaces

o Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

o Material handling systems and equipment maintenance

• Be in possession of a valid Class B driver’s licence
• Experience in maintenance of emulsion manufacturing plants and explosives trucks is an added advantage
• Good understanding of ISO standards
• Good understanding of the Explosives Act and, the Mines, Works, Quarries and Machinery Act (MQWM) and other relevant legislative requirements
