SALARY: D2 (P255, 672.00 – P 282, 288.00) per annum
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
BENEFITS: i) Optional contributory medical aid (government pay 50% and employee 50%)
ii) Contributory pension scheme (Government contributes 15% and employee 5%)
iii) Scarce Skills Allowance at 40% of Basic Salary as long as it is applicable
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of 5-year Professional Degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
• Applicants should have registered with Architects Registration Council as an Architect.
• Certification or a Master’s Degree in Project Management from an accredited Project Management Institution will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
• Eight (8) years of relevant work experience in the management of construction projects.
• Two (2) years of which should have been at Principal Architect II D3 level or an equivalent level in parastatals or private sectors.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
• Directly responsible for overall management and control of all aspects of “Pre-Contract” and “Post-Contract” stages of Government projects in Architectural Works
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitors and guides progress on architectural components of the project.
• Prepares reports on the performance of contractors on architectural components of the works.
• Assesses and approved designs and proposals from architectural consultants.
• Approves the design work, specifications and proposals on solutions to problems related to architectural works
• Undertakes feasibility studies for suitability of locally produced materials or methods of construction.
• Prepares tender documents for design, supervision and constructs.
• Analyse and process payment vouchers relating to payments to consultants, contractors and recommends as appropriate.
• Prepares budget relating to architectural components of the project
• Provides advice to ministries and departments on all matters relating to architectural works and compliance and compliance with relevant acts, code of practice, regulations and safety requirements.
• Provides on the job training to junior officers on designs principles, installation techniques and maintenance techniques pre-contract and post contract management.
• Undertakes any other duties assigned by management.
