JOB PURPOSE
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining longterm organizational strategic goals and building key customer relationships. The candidate will further be responsible for identifying business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals as well as maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions to improve on Hollard’s market position and achieve financial growth.

- Achieve monthly and yearly premium targets for new business and renewal of existing businesses
- Set the strategic direction for the Broker Market and oversee the success thereof
- Provide leadership to the team members towards the achievement of targets
- Effectively manage relationships with existing and new brokers and other corporate clients
- Drive sustainable growth in premium income and underwriting profit
- Continuously source appropriate market intelligence and disseminate to relevant stakeholders and apply where appropriate
- Build, maintain and enhance relationships with all relevant stakeholders
- Build comprehensive knowledge and understanding of customers’ businesses and identify areas in partner offices where interventions are required
- Implement and maintain good corporate governance for overall customer interactions and all processes involved in managing respective portfolios
- Formulate annual revenue, expense and activity budgets
- Facilitate the conversion of strategy/vision into business plans, project plans and actions as well os oversee and drive implementation of action plans
- Must have demonstrated leadership acumen to lead a team of professionals
QUALIFICATIONS
The right candidate should have a University degree in Insurance or Risk Management. A professional qualification in Marketing, Relationship Management or insurance will be an added advantage.
The candidate should have at least 15 years’ experience in business management and/or business consulting in the financial services industry. Prior experience in client relationships and portfolio management is preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Understanding of the overall dynamics of the insurance and financial services industries
- Sound understanding of the business of Short-term insurance market
- Sound understanding of regulatory and compliance issues pertinent to the Financial Services Industry
- Business management capabilities
- Strong analytical and numeric skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong client orientation
- Ability to network, persuade and prospect
