FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To implement the Catering business sales strategy and promotional strategy action plan that will achieve annual sales targets.
CORE ACTIVITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Regional Catering Strategy
- Implement the catering sales strategy and align it with the sales vision
- Identify the market needs and come up with a relevant strategy to compete in the market
- Implement an annual catering promotions strategy and action plan that will achieve sales targets
Regional Sales and Marketing
- Ensure that all relevant role players (Sales Representatives) understand the sales targets & action plans.
- Incorporate the department marketing plan to the Regional marketing plans
- To liaise with store managers on the Sales Reps KPA’s and KPI’s
- Conduct customer focus to devise appropriate promotional activity; appropriate range and range extension / categories, perishables, catering products (commodities, groceries, liquor, nonfood catering lines)
- Margin, expense management and category monitoring for profitability
Catering Budget
- Contribute to the Catering 3 year budget in place.
- Formulate action plans to address deviations from budget
- Expenses – monitoring of personnel expenses and resources such as fuel and vehicle maintenance
- Assist with the compilation of budgets per category and at store level and consolidate to a final regional sales budget
- Implement and monitor expenditure against budget to ensure spending remains within the set parameters
- Draft action plans to address deviations from budget.
Maximizing Merchandise and Range Composition
- Consolidate promotional post mortem and uses learning’s & sales information to drive future promotional plans
- Utilize analysis of past promotional activity by store against targets and take corrective action where required.
- Use social media platform and catering catalogue to market catering equipment and food items
Generate Sales through Catering Sales Reps
- Hotels, lodges .informal caterers restaurant and pub restaurants & build relationships with the Chefs and Hotel managers
- Organize food tasting and wine sessions to grow both categories & plan the events calendar ahead
- Ensure sales and category growth in the region by implementing, measuring and managing sales and customer service
- Build Sales capability and relationships with the catering customers
- Manage individual and Sales team outputs so that performance and development needs can be identified to develop competence
REQUIREMENTS
- Commercial diploma /degree, preferably with Sales or Retail/FMCG background.
- Minimum 5 years related Retail/FMCG Management experience with at least 2 years as manager of others
- Valid Driver’s License
- Negotiating skills
- Computer Literacy (excel, PowerPoint, and word)
- Planning and organizing skills
- Accuracy and ability to pay attention to detail
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret financial data
- Self-driven and team player
- Advanced problem solving skills
- Build a customer focused environment
- High level of Energy & Flexibility
- Willingness To Travel Extensively In Botswana
