Tebelopele is a non -profit health and wellness organization dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of communities across Botswana for over 20 years. Tebelopele facilities are situated in 18 locations serving residents in rural, urban and town. In August 2018, Tebelopele became Botswana’s first and largest non- profit HIV Testing to integrated HIV-SRH services which includes HIV and STI screening and treatment, TB screening and, Family planning. Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP).
Tebelopele aims at providing tailored, integrated facility specific support to close the gaps related to HIV/AIDS, treatment, and care, particularly among AGYWand men. The expected outcomes will be based on project Key results areas. Through the USAID award Tebelopele will implement a client centered integrated prevention, care and treatment program that will support services delivery towards reaching HIV epidemic control. To achieve this, the activity will focus on the following four (4) Key Results Areas 1) to foster early detection of infection and to address the gaps in testing (especially among men and youth) 2) To enhance early linkage to care and treatment to persons newly identified as HIV positive 3) Increased Adherence, Retention and Sustained Viral Load Suppression for HIV and TB Patients on Treatment and 4) Scaling Preventive Strategies to Combat HIV Infection among Population at Risk. The expected outcomes will be based on the program description Key results areas with geographic focus of the Activity including Tebelopele facilities in Gaborone, Kweneng East, and Francistown.

Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the Senior Human Resources Officer has the overall responsibility of HR functions including the new employee orientation. She will handle front- line employee inquiries and will work, in close coordination with the HR Manager and HR Assistant in implementation to HR functions.
- OVERALL PURPOSE
The Senior HR Officer assist to lead the Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
- COMPETENCIES

- Recommends HR technology decisions
- Develops policies and procedures consistent with organizational values and goals

- Provides career mentorship to mid-level career professionals
- Develops and coordinates HR relationship/performance management objectives and resources.
- Mediates difficult employee relations and/or other interactions as a neutral party
- Manages challenging issues in union and non-union environments.
- Establishes programs, policies, and procedures to support the organizational culture
- Promotes HR capabilities to organization
- Leads project plans and budgets for timely completion
- Oversees execution of programs, practices, and policies that make the strategic connection between diversity and inclusiveness practices with organizational success.
- Maintains contemporary knowledge of ethics laws, standards, legislation, and emerging trends that may affect organizational behaviors and practice.
- Evaluates potential ethical risks and liabilities to the organization.
Maintains advanced knowledge in the use of data, evidence-based research, benchmarks, HR and business metrics to make critical decisions
- Provides training and mentoring to upper and lower-level employees on critical evaluation
- Possesses advanced knowledge and ability to interpret data and make recommendations
- Manages effective evaluations of organizational programs and interventions.
- Understanding of all aspects of the employment relationship, incorporating the study of labour
law, human resource management, industrial relations policy, and international human resources from a global perspective.
- EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
- Bsc/Bachelor’s in HR management, Business Administration, Law, or related. MBA will be an added advantage.
- 5 years’ work experience in the Human Resources field, last 3 years at senior management.
- Diligent and firm with high ethical standards.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting.
- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
- Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead
- Able present company mission and history clearly and confidently
- Great “people-person” skills and professional attitude
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labour relations, preferred.
- General knowledge of employment laws and best practices
