Job Summary
The person will oversee implementation and maintenance of the Temenos T24 core banking platform in line with the IT strategy, ensuring that the institution benefits from the software’s capabilities while enabling the transformation to a digitally-driven financial institution. The person will oversee day-to-day administration of the T24 system, seeing to it that security of data is maintained in accordance with the institution’s IT protocols and policies. The individual will analyse IT requirements and propose innovative and robust solutions in T24 to support the institution’s operations. A key area of performance will be to develop and implement a skills transfer plan for emerging talent in IT, for sustainability.

The duties of the Senior Specialist: Temenos T24 will include –• Effectively providing the technical support for the institution’s Temenos T24 core application.• Developing and implementing policies, programmes, procedures and controls to ensure that there is security and integrity of data and information in T24.• Assessment of the institution’s overall information, reporting and systems needs through analysis of business processes and management information, requiring automation in T24.
• Helping business with the identification of T24 systems solutions necessary for business processes.
• Acting as internal project lead or resource the implementation of new systems and software solutions that interface with Temenos T24.Engaging in management of vendor service level agreements to ensure that services rendered meet agreed standards, including timelines.
• Participating in disaster recovery plan management to enable timely resumption of systems and operations, in the event of a
disaster and ensuring that the system is available for operations across the institution in line with internal standards of system
uptime targets and performance levels.
• Developing and implementing a day-to-day skills and knowledge transfer programme for team members identified for
development on the core system, covering analysis, programming, review, enhancement and tailoring of the system.
• Proactively developing and ensuring the adoption of digital innovation and service delivery tools and systems by continuously
engaging with business and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Education/CertificationA bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.Required Experience
5 – 8 years’ experience in a Temenos T24 system environment with 2 to
3 years at specialist level.Key Knowledge and Competencies
IT Knowledge – Must be able to identify and use complex tools and technology to enhance job knowledge and improve quality of services. Competent to discuss the underlying technology with various team members and vendors who have varying levels of expertise/knowledge.
IT Systems- Sound understanding of the overall function and technologies of several components in the T24 technical platform or system. Competent to discuss the underlying technology with a vendor first-line response teams. Must understand the design principles in the vendor’s product (Temenos T24) and other key internal applications and be able to interpret functional requirements for technical design. Sound understanding of system performance tools, as well as storage, back-up and recovery requirements and ability to use knowledge to solve escalated system problems.
Business Analysis – Sound understanding of process modelling techniques to elicit and document the business requirements. Ability to solve problems using knowledge of business analysis concepts (process, requirements, deliverables) and apply business analysis tools and techniques in different situations. Must have sound understanding of how to transition from requirements to implemented solutions and be able to apply understanding of stakeholder engagement, demonstrating a clear understanding of how deliverables must meet requirements.
Data Analysis – Basic knowledge of statistical techniques, including data modelling, integration and mining processes. Must demonstrate knowledge of the relevant technology and/or systems used.
Continuous Process Improvement – At a transactional level, must understand the requirements for incremental improvement.
Demonstration of ability to identify current process inefficiencies.
Creative and Innovative Thinking – At a process level, must be able to connect different concepts from different fields and sources to create something new, using own initiative, generating new ideas, translating them into practical solutions to process problems. Must demonstrate ingenuity and curiosity to do things better.
