Provide support to the Country Head of Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing in the execution of the role in Government, Media and Community Relations, Communication (internal & external) and Brand & Marketing objectives as well as Issues Management in order to achieve the Corporate Affairs strategic goals in line with the Bank-wide objectives.
· Support the Country Head of Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing in execution of Regional Corporate Affairs strategy and planning processes, aligning with (and challenging) Group aspirations.
· Understand and support the implementation of corporate, business and internal communications including media relations/interactions.

· Support the Country Head of Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing in the execution of the in-country strategy and country government regulatory relations framework engaging the key government and regulatory officials
· Adhere to the Group Communications policy in country.
Business
· Marketing events & Sponsorships: Provide strategic and tactical inputs on events marketing as an integrated part of the marketing function. This will involve planning and scheduling marketing events activities for Retail, CIC and Commercial clients and Sponsorships while overseeing the event marketing and sponsorships budgets
· Marketing Strategies and Campaign: Work closely with the product teams across the various segments to develop campaigns that speak effectively to the needs of the customer and drive branding and consideration for products and services. In addition, use consumer, competitor and research insights to provide thought leadership in formulation of marketing strategy.
· Brand Management: Design and execute brand specifications (Brand positioning and brand architecture) to reinforce the overall SCB brand positioning. Responsible for all product naming and trademark-related matters and branch merchandising
· Strategic Media and Marketing Communication: work with the various creative and media agencies to ensure effective communication both BTL and ATL
· Digital Marketing: work with both the digital and social media agency to ensure that effective utilization of digital marketing. Responsibility as the country social media manager.

· Support the delivery of the strategic direction of Community Relations strategies and processes within a Group/ Regional level to ensure continuous improvement, sharing best practice and that the appropriate initiatives are in place.

Setting appropriate tone and expectations for the team, working in collaboration with Brand & Marketing partners across all functions to effectively embed a strong culture of Brand & Marketing awareness and knowledge to the business
Risk Management
· Understand the role of Sustainability and environmental conservation in reputation management and support the establishment, buy-in and execution of the Sustainability strategy that CA is responsible for.
Governance
· Support the Country Head of Corporate Affairs & Brand & Marketing in ensuring compliance with the sponsorship and donations policy in country.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
· Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
· Lead the Botswana / Global Support Function / Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.]
· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business
· At least 3-5 years’ experience in event marketing, preferably in the financial services industry with a track record of implementing successful marketing initiatives
· Strong organisational and project management skills
· Proven measurement and analytic capability, especially in relation to ROI
· Ability to work with teams, manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
· Comfortable in interfacing with external clients
· Superior influencing and negotiation skills
· Superior stakeholder management
· Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite
