The role of Legal Advisor is to provide legal advice and services to customers in accordance with the Legal Advice Procedure Manual.


Key performance Areas
  • To render Legal Advice in terms of the Legal Advice Procedure Manual/Policy
  • To render Telephonic and On-Line Legal Service
  • To carry out legal research and recommend for resolution of cases as appropriate to the Team Leader
  • To resolve Customer Complaints and Queries within prescribed timeframes
  • To provide inputs to the various reports as required and submit timeously
  • To ensure reconciliation of all claims referred to the Team Leader captured on Referrals Register
  • To provide customers with updates on the status of their claims
  • To adequately manage client consultations
  • To perform all administrative tasks pertaining to lodged claims
  • To manage claims costs through strict adherence to policy-wording during performance of assessments and referral of valid claims
  • To contribute to the review and adoption of processes within the Legal Services Department
  • To be available for undertaking such other related duties as directed by the Supervisor and Legal Services Manager
  • Degree in Law and admitted to practice in the courts of Botswana
  • At least 2 years post qualification experience.
  • Must be conversant with rules of the Magistrates Court and High Court and have a thorough knowledge of the rules as respectively amended.
  • To have an appreciation of the Insurance Industry environment
