Suitably qualified citizens are hereby invited to submit their applications and curriculum vitae for the below positions in the Authority tenable in Gaborone, Botswana.

MANAGER – PROCUREMENT SERVICES

JOB PURPOSE:

To manage procurement function of the Authority and oversee sourcing, custody and issuance of stores to user departments to optimize the utilization of resources.

 

MAIN DUTIES:

1. To advise the Director, Finance and Administration on all matters concerning procurement and supplies for the Authority
2. To develop plan and budget for the unit.
3. To manage the resources of the unit.
4. To manage and develop the staff in the unit.
5. To manage all procurement activities for the Authority.
6. To coordinate reconciliation of all stores records with accounts for audit purposes;
7. To advise on disposal of obsolete or expired items/goods and to advice on how to handle losses in stores.
8. To oversee development and implementation of standardized procurement/inventory management policies, regulations and procedures across Departments and ensure regular updating.
9. To act as Secretary of Authority Tender Board and to prepare Tender Documents and periodical reports.
10. To prepare the Authority’s Annual Procurement Plan and Budget.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Academic Qualification: Holder of Degree or higher, in Procurement and Logistics Management with outstanding performance in the professional ladder as may be determined by the professional Board
• Work experience: At least ten years relevant work experience, four of which in senior procurement/Head of Sectional position in a reputable organization
• Essential skills: Proven Head of Sectional and administration skills; good interpersonal skills and team spirit; good communication and interpersonal skills; ICT Applications.
• Competences: Excellent organizational skills; Strong ability to follow detailed processes and procedures; Excellent negotiator; Initiative, diplomacy and good judgement; Good written and oral communication skills; High degree of ethical standards.
