A vacancy exists for a Pharmacist based at Life Gaborone Private Hospital, reporting to the SeniorPharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that quality pharmaceutical care services, financial objectives, legislative compliance requirements are achieved to the required standards.
Effective quality and medication safety management
Assist in implementing pharmacy best operating practice related to medication safety management with the objective of reducing medication incidents to below target.
Support and help implement pharmacy initiatives including antimicrobial stewardship.
Dispense medication accurately and participate in chemotherapy sterile preparations.
Drive customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiatives in area of influence.
Effective financial management
Identify areas of improvement in financial measures relating to pharmacy.
Build effective working relationships with doctors and other professional staff.
Effective asset management
Participate in the stock management process to achieve targets.
Effective systems management
Ensure optimum system utilisation.
Effective people management
Assist in training relevant staff on medicine management.
Provide direction and inspire positive work behaviour in team.
B.Pharm / MPharm / B.Sc Pharm
Current registration with Botswana Health professions Council
Understanding of operating structures and relationships within a hospital environment
Current pharmaceutical product knowledge as well as knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
Computer proficiency (MS office)
Problem-solving, analysis and judgement
Verbal & written communication and presentation
