The University is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the above position, tenable at its Main Campus in Gaborone.



BA ISAGO University seeks to appoint a dynamic and visionary leader who will strategically position the institution, in the national and regional tertiary education landscape, while retaining and developing its competitive edge locally. The President provides administrative and academic leadership, overall responsibility for governance, the University advancement, managing regulator relationships, academic stakeholders, senate chair supervision and decision making on academic affairs.


Portfolio Responsibilities

The President is responsible for the University-wide strategic, institutional planning, internationalisation processes, stakeholder and partnership management, governance, consolidation of University policies and procedures, in line with BA ISAGO ‘s vision, mission, goals and values as embedded in the Transformational Strategic Plan 2017-2022. The role of the President includes, among others, a commitment to the University’s developmental agenda, enabling it to grow with quality, into a leading and reputable private tertiary education institution of choice.

Key Person Specifications/Attributes

The position requires a person with extensive knowledge and experience in higher education, particularly in the private sector .Strong academic and sound leadership qualities, with a proven record at executive /senior management level. The candidate will apply the University’s visionary strategy to existing academic and research practices in order to introduce distinct transformational changes.

The candidate should have:

Excellent communication skills.
Critical and analytical skills.
Research profile of papers published in refereed journals.
Decisive and effective management style.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
A strong process and performance driven orientation.
Strong computer literacy skills.


Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess and demonstrate sound academic and professional integrity and accomplishments, relevant to the private tertiary education landscape including:

A PhD /Doctorate in a relevant discipline.
At least 10 years of experience in the higher education sector management positions.
Must have held a position of Dean / Pro-Vice Chancellor /Executive Director/CEO.
A candidate at Professorial level will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of education and research in a university.
