SALARY SCALE: D2 (P248, 220 – P274, 056) per annum

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum

 

BENEFITS: i) Optional contributory medical aid scheme with the
Botswana Public Officers’ Medical Aid Scheme
(BPOMAS), (Government pays 50% and the
employee 50%).
ii) Contributory Pension Fund (Government contributes 15% and Employee 5%).

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Library and Information Studies.

 

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years relevant work experience as Principal Records Manager II, D3 level in the public sector or its equivalent in the parastatal/ private sector.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To plan, manage and oversee implementation of records management programmes.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Develops and monitors implementation of the Records Management annual plan.
• Coordinates the development of file classification schemes and retention and disposal schedules.
• Coordinates the appraisal of semi-current records.
• Develops business continuity plan.
• Coordinates periodic inspections of records management service delivery in the Ministry.
• Guides customers on records management standards and procedures.
• Attends to customer queries and requests.
• Prepares budget proposal for the Unit.
• Undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by Management.

2. RECORDS MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

SALARY SCALE: D3 (P215,868 – P238,320) per annum

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum

QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Archives and Records Management.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To oversee the implementation of records management guidelines and procedures.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Defines file classification schemes.
• Monitors adherence to records management tools and standards.
• Conducts primary appraisal of records.
• Prepares records management reports.
• Initiates budget proposal for the Unit.
• Researches on records management issues.
• Consults and provides guidance to customers on the functions and procedures of Records Management Unit and Records Centre.
• Analyses data for the customer satisfaction survey and makes recommendations.
• Undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by Management.
