PROJECT OFFICER – CBD ACCESS & TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Supervise and coordinates CBD Access & Traffic Management under the Urban Transport Infrastructure Improvement component of the BITP.

 

DUTIES

1. Prepares or check procurement documents for CBD Access & Traffic under the Urban Transport Infrastructure Improvement component of the BITP.
2. Supervises the preparation of BITP designs and specifications for implementation of project activities.
3. Checks quality of traffic signals supplies and equipment against specifications.
4. Supervises and monitors the implementation of CBD Access & Traffic Management.
5. Review/check the quality of project deliverables and recommends way forward to the Component Manager
6. Initiates preparation of requests for project finance warrants.
7. Prepare budget estimate for CBD Access and Traffic Signals contract under the Urban Transport Infrastructure Improvement component.

 

8. Prepare project updates and submit to the Component Manager.
9. Conducts consultations with the community and other stakeholders.
10. Provide project related information to stakeholder
11. Attend to customer complaints.
12. Prepare project fee notes/interim payments certificates (IPCs).
13. Ensure that data collected under the project activities is uploaded into relevant databases e.g. the Integrated Botswana Road Management System at Roads Department.
14. Monitor the CBD Access & Traffic Management expenditure to ensure that it is within budget.
15. Carry out other relevant day-to-day project supervision/monitoring activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil /Highway Engineering or any other equivalent qualification.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of ten (10) years on Urban road design, construction and maintenance, of which four (4) years are on traffic management and traffic engineering.

SALARY SCALE: D1 (BWP 285,444.00 per annum)

LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum

 

OTHER BENEFITS

I. Optional contributory medical aid scheme with the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS). The employer pays 50% and employee pays 50%. The employer will also contribute 50% of medical aid cover for individuals who are already members of a different medical aid scheme other than BPOMAS.
II. A contract of 24 to 36 months, with gratuity at the rate of 30% payable upon expiry of contract.
