Regional Manager-North – Barclays Bank Botswana

 The Regional Manager is a key leadership role in the Retail organisation, responsible for delivering an outstanding Barclays experience to every customer and leading the region to meet its goals. This role is a significant people leadership position with a strong focus on sales management, customer service excellence and running a well-controlled operation with engaged and enabled staff.

• Accountable for leading the region to achieve performance goals across areas of sales, customer service, control and people.
• Agree targets for region performance with the Head of Customer Network
• Deliver region performance in the key areas of:
 Customer satisfaction performance
 Sales growth, income contribution and total balance sheet (assets and liabilities)
 Costs performance
 Risk and rigour performance
• Responsible for maintaining a healthy balance sheet in the region i.e. ensuring the assets on the books of the region are performing to expected standards, that low quality assets are kept to a minimum and that the earnings contribution of the region is within acceptable levels.
• Actively monitor and manage sales performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis using appropriate MI and sales figures


Essential/Basic Qualifications

 • Degree in Business Management or any other related qualification
• 12 years’ experience 7 of which in a managerial post
• Banking products, processes and services
• Customer service standards
• IT literate
• Sales management principles
• Banking risk and compliance approaches enquired
• People leadership – including strong communications, coaching and people development skills
• Planning & Organising
• Effective interpersonal skills (questioning and listening)
• Outstanding Customer Service
• Strong commercial ability
• Sales leadership ability

Preferred Qualifications 
• Operated in a customer facing role where service is paramount
• Confidence in complaint handling
• Led a team in a sales environment undertaking full performance management responsibilities
• Operated in a financial, regulatory environment
• Leading large teams of people to achieve results
