The Medicines Regulatory Authority has been set up under the Medicines and Related Substances Act (MRSA) of 2013 and was established to regulate the supply chain of medicines and related substances, cosmetics and medical devices in order to ensure their quality, safety and efficacy.

Suitably qualified citizens are hereby invited to submit their applications and curriculum vitae for the below positions in the Authority tenable in Gaborone, Botswana.

 

REGISTRY SUPERVISOR

JOB PURPOSE:

To supervise the operational processing of documentation to ensure the implementation of sound document management procedures and management of registry functions.

 

MAIN DUTIES:
1. To control both paper and electronic records.
2. To classify and file records.
3. To repair worn out files.
4. To advise on issues related to record keeping.
5. To keep and maintain archives.
6. To prepare registry report.

 

7. To receive, route, store and retrieve mails, files and other documents when needed by officers.
8. To advise the records officer on issues relate to record keeping.
9. To receive files, deliver to the appropriate officer and collect and return them to the registry.
10. To open relevant files according to record keeping regulations.
11. To keep record of movement of files according to laid down procedures.
12. To dispatch documents according to instructions of superiors.
13. To provide oversight and management of corporate records.

 

14. To oversee the work of Records Management staff by making and reviewing work assignment, establishing priorities, coordinating activities and resolving related work problems.
15. To promote professional Records Management practice through research and publications.
16. To advise on the recruitment of Records Management personnel for the Authority.
17. To supervise, appraise staff and identify their development and training needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Academic Qualification: Holder of a Diploma in Records Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

 

• Work experience: None
• Essential skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills; good working knowledge of ICT Applications
• Competences: Registry organization; teamwork.
