Our motor dealer clients in Botswana is looking to employ Top Service Managers


Motor Mechanic Trade test completed Technically orientated


1              Be visible, present and available at all peak times (especially in the mornings and evenings).

2              Required to achieve CSI criteria as a minimum

3              Achieve targeted departmental gross profits and nett profits and monthly benchmarks

4              Complete and hand in all relevant reporting and documentation to Importers timeously.

5              Check the Daily Operations Control schedule (DOC) on a daily basis.

6              Spot check vehicles and previous days job cards daily (in line with Manufacturer’s specifications)

7              Do daily check with Warranty Clerk on warranty status as you are personally responsible for warranty wright off

8              Do daily check on Work-In-Progress and Cash Outstanding.

9              Check ALL invoices on a daily basis.

10           You are personally responsible for all cash outstanding

11           You are responsible for all planning, organizing and monitoring of workshop staff training on a weekly and                       monthly basis.

12           Liaise with problem customers.

13           Give top priority to the customer complaints of all franchises.

14           Escalate the problems to the Dealer Principal before going with it to the Importers.

15           Ensure the work is done right the first time.

16           Ensure staff are trained to back-up other staff for all the key positions in the Service Department.

17           Have daily staff meetings with the Service Advisor, Workshop Foreman on key performance areas and actions to               improve (keep minutes of these meetings).

18           Have daily meetings with the Parts Manager regarding open job cards (back orders) and parts supply.

19           Have a weekly meeting with all the Service Department staff.  Do weekly productivity and efficiency                             performance reviews on all productive

staff. Follow the disciplinary code for under-achievers

20           Do staff appraisals on a monthly and quarterly basis.

21           Praise achievers and over-achievers.  .

22           Liaise with accountant monthly basis on warranty age analysis. (Resolve all short payments, late payments, any               other outstanding issues).

As you are personally responsible for warranty wright off’s.

23           Enforce safety and security in the Service Department in accordance with the company policy.

24           You are responsible to complete, sign and fax all loan forms to insurance company and update them if there is                 any extension.  Original to be kept in file

25           You are responsible for the safe custody of all workshop assets and ensure a special tool register is kept up to                 date. (Your need to do a quarterly asset count with accountant)

26           You are responsible for the warranty store to be kept up to date as per importer requirements.

27           Housekeeping of frontline office, workshop, customer reception, wash bay.

28           Opening and closing of workshop and arming and disarming of alarm system.

29           You are responsible for safe keeping of all vehicle keys and access control to and from the workshop


30           Carry out additional reasonable duties from time to time at the discretion of management.
