Job Purpose

​To supervise all aspects of way leave acquisition and registration of the transmission and distribution lines, substations servitudes and other corporation properties to meet statutory requirements to allow growth in the distribution of power throughout the country and the expansion of the corporation’s operations.


Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Administers and supervises the way leaves sections so as to ensure proper utilisation of all allocated resources.

Liaises with all interested and affected parties such as landowners and other land authorities on behalf of the corporation in the acquisition and registration of servitudes to avoid delays in the implementation of projects.

Participates in the land assessment committees, negotiates with freehold landowners, and reviews the settlement of all compensation claims to ensure that the corporation gets value for its servitudes investments.

Prepares way leaves registration systems and databases to enable easy cross-referencing and retrieval of information.

Participates and advises the selection and alignment of transmission and distribution land routes together with the appointed consultants thus ensuring optimal and cost effective line routing.
Checks new transmission and distribution and substation installations for compliance with the approved way leave and other statutory requirements.



BGCSE or equivalent ​

​At least three (3) years in land acquisition related field such as land survey, estate-planning fields with a knowledge of regulations relating to the use and acquisition of land and title deeds
