MMG / Khoemacau Mine

MMG Khoemacau is a copper-silver mining operation located in the Kalahari Copper Belt of north-western Botswana, near Maun. The mine was acquired by MMG Limited, a global mining group, in 2024, adding a significant African asset to its portfolio. The operation employs a workforce of over a thousand people, making it an important contributor to employment in the region. Beyond mining, MMG Khoemacau invests in local environmental initiatives, including annual tree planting programmes and plans to establish a dedicated game park. The company plays a notable role in Botswana’s efforts to diversify its economy beyond diamonds through base metals production.
