Simolola Drilling Services and its subsidiary, Mitchell Drilling Botswana (Pty) Ltd, are leading drilling services providers dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, and innovative drilling programs for mining projects. To support our ongoing drill programs in Botswana, we are looking for a highly skilled professional for the following role: DRILL RIG ERGONOMICS SPECIALIST
Key Responsibilities
- Implement ergonomic safety standards for drill rig operations to minimize risks.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventive measures for occupational injuries.
- Ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001 and establish audit standards in new drilling environments.
- Design safe human-machine interaction protocols to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Develop strategies to reduce injury risks associated with deep-hole drilling operations.
- Required Experience & Qualifications: Extensive background in mining or drilling ergonomics.
Requirements
- A qualification in Drilling Methods or Drill Site Safety (Mandatory).
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Ergonomics or Human Movement Science.
- A recognized qualification in Health and Safety Management.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditors Training Course certificate
- ISO 9001 Implementation Training Course certificate
- Certificate in Samtrac
- Exploration safety office certificate program
- International Diploma in Occupational safety and health
- Drill Rig Ergonomics Training
- At least 10 years of experience in large drilling field camps, including technical, mechanical, administrative, and operational aspects.
- Sound knowledge of exploration, RC, Aircore drilling rig and equipment is a must.
