A leading Phakalane-based manufacturing company with a workforce of 300+ employees seeks to recruit an inspired, high-energy professional for a challenging HR leadership role. We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Human Resource Manager to oversee all HR functions, ensure strict compliance with Botswana Labour Laws, and provide strategic support to our operational and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Administration: Provide full support to management; maintain accurate employee records and HR files.
- Recruitment: Coordinate the end-to-end process, including interviews, medicals, and onboarding.
- Employee Relations: Draft employment contracts, handle HR correspondence, and manage disciplinary processes (notices, minutes, and outcomes).
- Monitoring & Compliance: Monitor leave, absenteeism, and attendance; ensure all company policies align with Botswana law.
- Performance Management: Support management with probation reviews and annual performance cycles.
- Reporting: Prepare HR reports and statistics for executive management.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years at a management/senior level.
- Legal Knowledge: Sound practical knowledge of Botswana labour legislation (Employment Act, Workers’ Compensation, Trade Disputes Act).
- Disciplinary & IR: Proven experience handling investigations, disciplinary hearings, appeals, and union engagements.
- Technical Skills: Strong HR administration, recruitment management, and exposure to payroll inputs/benefits coordination.
- Driver’s Licence: Must possess a valid Class B driver’s licence.
- Personal Attributes: High level of integrity, professional yet approachable, and the ability to remain firm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
