As John Mackenzie school, we are looking for a dynamic and pivotal boarding master with parental care, firm leadership and administrative efficiency to manage the holistic well-being of students at the Mackenzie boarding house. The suitable candidate should be able to take on a formal, temporary parenting role and should be able to manage the routines, safety and emotional development of students irrespective of race, colour, gender or religious affiliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Empathy and Approachability: He should be kind, patient and accessible. He should be able to create a home away from home atmosphere where students feel safe to discuss personal issues.
- Pastoral insight: The suitable candidate should have deep understanding of adolescent development and should be able to recognize, address and support emotional, social needs of students.
- Relationship builder: One who can develop strong, trusting relationships with students, parents and staff, acting as a key link for communication.
- Leadership and discipline: He must be able to enforce school policies and boarding rules consistently and fairly.
- Clean record: He must have a clean life record with no criminal record of any magnitude.
